Our Story

Our History: Over a Century of Craftsmanship

The story of Ford Sheet Metal began over 100 years ago in North Carolina, where our current owner’s great-grandfather first opened his doors. In the 1920s, the family brought their trade to Florida, establishing one of Jacksonville’s earliest metal shops near the city’s famous Treaty Oak Park.

As the city grew, so did the business. In 1946, the family built and moved into our current facility, where we have remained a fixture of the community for eight decades. Originally known as Ford Roofing, the company underwent a significant transition in 1978. When two cousins inherited the family legacy, they made the strategic decision to split the operations: one focused on roofing and the other on the specialized art of sheet metal fabrication.

While the roofing company has since closed its doors, Ford Sheet Metal has flourished. Today, we carry the torch of four generations of expertise, serving as a bridge between Jacksonville’s historic past and its modern future.
